Are you an experienced Operations / Assistant Manager looking for your first General Managers role or a General Manager looking for a new challenge?
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic leader, commercially minded and operationally astute and importantly focused on customer service. The successful candidate ideally from a leisure or hospitality environment will have at least 12 months experience and be able to demonstrate their people management and communication skills whilst working to deliver agreed business targets and KPI’s.
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and the overall running of Helsby Community Sports Club ensuring facilities are open, clean and the safe operation of all equipment. To assist you in this role you will have a full time Hospitality Manager and friendly facility and bar staff
An important part of your role will be to maintain and develop the programme of activities and events at the Club by working collaboratively with the sporting sections, members, board and volunteers.
You will engage more with existing members acting on feedback and get out into the wider local community, with outreach activity, supporting or hosting events.
You will report to our Commercial and Operations Director
Qualifications
This position holds a minimum of a level 3 Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent. There will be a requirement to sign up to a personal license course, first aid at work course and IOSH course if these qualifications are not held.
Helsby Community Sports Club (HCSC)
HCSC is a former staff Sports Club for employees of the old BICC factory in Helsby with origins that date back to the1920’s. Since 1991 the club has been independently run as a non-profit making organisation operated by a volunteer committee.
The new ‘state of the art’ opened in2021, still a volunteer led operation but with paid staff to lead and manage the commercial and operations of the business. The Club is still a non-profit CASC registered multi-sports club with a vision to grow participation in sport, leisure and recreation in Helsby, Frodsham and the surrounding villages.
The facility offers a full size 3Gfootball pitch, Rugby Pitches, Artificial Bowling Greens and Tennis Courts, and a clubhouse offering a Snooker Lounge, Meeting Room and a Sports Bar with Function Rooms all available for hire. The club is constantly trying to add to its offering and as a facility it has a massive potential to grow and expand under the right leadership.

Employment Details
This vacancy is on a Permanent contract basis, 37.5 hours per week.
Hours will generally be Monday –Friday with flexibility to working weekends as required for functions and events.
£28,000.00 - £35,000.00 based on experience
